A typical close pass at this location, doing 45mph in a 30 limit and into oncoming traffic.

There's a fairly good cycle path beside this road, but it ends just before you enter the town. This is a good example of why providing intermittent cycling infrastructure is no use. You can have 5 miles of great off road cycle track, but if the last quarter of a mile to your destination is always dangerous, then it's not fit for purpose.
