Intentional or completely blind (and stupid)?

Driver waited at the T-junction until I was directly opposite and then accelerated out, running wide and pushing me off the road. I managed to get onto the footpath and avoid a collision. Incident reported to WA Police who shrugged and said "Yeah? So?".
