Pointless dangerous overtaking manoeuvre

Descending Wilderton Road in Poole, I was overtaken on a blind left-hand bend by a SUV that passed really close. 40m further on, the driver stamped on the brakes to take a right turn off the road. By that time I'd caught up so the dangerous overtaking manoeuvre was completely pointless.
